The Future Impact Maker Grant: Paid Internship is an initiative to support economic mobility and workforce development for low-to-moderate income students within the community-based sector. Each awardee will receive $4,000 in grant funds, with $250 allocated for professional development.
Eligibility:
- Organizations must be community-based (nonprofits, government entities, community foundations, etc.) that provide affordable housing, economic development (e.g. workforce development) or community services (e.g. financial education, hunger relief, health services access) specifically to low-to-moderate income community members.
- Serve community members across VA, MD, DC and/or NC.
- Grantees must commit to hosting undergraduate/certificate program and graduate-level students for roughly 8 weeks in a paid internship program.
Note:
- Students must be hired as direct employees and organizations are responsible for employment taxes.
- Grant recipients and interns will be required to share program outcomes at the end of the program through a survey.
